Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested by ED over the Liquor Case:
Today Ed arrived at Kejriwal Residence with warrant and arrested him after 2 hours of long interrogation. Shortly after ED showed up at Kejriwal’s house, officers ceased his mobile phone during the interrogation imposed Section 144 in the area with heavy security forces. No one was allowed to go in and out of the house and no social gathering around the house. And then Kejriwal got arrested by ED and case is linked to Excise Policy of Delhi
Arvind Kejriwal was summoned 9 times already earlier this month but he replied to the ED with written explanation via his lawyers. And when today morning it was expected ED will arrest Kejriwal today and so he filed the petition in Delhi High Court saying that he will go to the ED himself but ED should not arrest him. But Delhi High Court declined his petition which made it was very clear that Arvind Kejriwal Could be Arrested soon. Now AAP’s legal wing is seeking help from the SUPREME COURT of India for the bail of Arvind Kejriwal.
Lok Sabha Elections are around the corner and arrest of Arvind Kejriwal is going to create huge impact on Aam Aadmi Party’s leadership. Because even though charges made on Kejriwal has not been approved, he is not likely to come out of the Jail soon. As previously seen his other ministers( Satinder Jain, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh) and have been arrested by the ED and they are proven guilty yet but they are still in Jail. So now the question is who will lead the AAP? AAP has made the alliance with Congress and contesting election on 46 seats of Lok Sabha in five states in which AAP will contest on 20 seats and remaining by the Congress.
Now we will see if Arvind Kejriwal will get any relief from the Supreme Court or he will run the government and election from the jail or we will see the new faces in AAP’s Leadership.
